NSW:Screwdriver man fails in NSW store robbery
SYDNEY, April 30 AAP - A man used a screwdriver to threaten a 61-year-old female staffer
during an attempted supermarket robbery in northern NSW.
Police arrested the 31-year-old on Thursday evening in Toowoomba, QLD, and extradited
him on Friday to NSW.
He was charged with assault with intent to rob while armed with an offensive weapon.
The man allegedly committed the offence on April 8 at a supermarket in Casino, west of Lismore.
Police said he threatened the female employee and demanded cash but she refused and
the man left the store empty-handed.
He was refused bail and ordered to appear in Lismore Local Court on Saturday.
